Air enters through filters and fan inlets locatedin the lower rear of the chassis and exits through the upper sections throughthe side. Place your PXI-1010 on a bench top or in an instrument rack sothat the fans (air inlets) and the air outlet apertures along both sides of thechassis have adequate ventilation. Keep other equipment a minimum of3.0 in. (76.2 mm) away from the air inlets and outlets.Install your chassis for easy access to the rear panel. This simplifies the airfilter replacement.Rack-mount applications require the optional rack-mount kit availablefrom National Instruments. Refer to the rack-mount kit documentation toinstall your PXI-1010 in an instrument rack.Chassis ConfigurationChassis configuration involves selecting an SCXI subsystem address, line voltage, and fuse value, described briefly in the following sections.SCXI Subsystem Address SelectionNote Unless you are using multiple chassis and need to configure one or more SCXIchassis for a different address, you can skip this section.
