Disconnect power from the cDAQ controller.2. Press the CMOS reset button, shown in Figure 1-1, NI cDAQ-9138/9139 Controller, andhold it for 1 second.3. Reconnect power to the cDAQ controller.The BIOS Reset Detected warning message appears onscreen.If the CMOS battery is dead, the CMOS reset button does not work. You must complete thefollowing alternative steps to reset the CMOS and reset the BIOS settings to factory defaultvalues:1. Disconnect power from the cDAQ controller.2. Configure the front-panel DIP switches as shown in Table 1-9.Note These DIP switch settings are only applicable when the CMOS battery isdead.3. Reconnect power to the cDAQ controller. The BIOS Reset Detected warning messageappears onscreen.4. Reset the DIP switches to their normal positions.Chassis Grounding ScrewFor EMC compliance, the cDAQ controller must be connected to earth ground through thecontroller ground, shown in Figure 1-1.The wire should be 1.31 mm2 (16 AWG) solid copper wire with a maximum length of 1.5 m(5 ft). Attach the wire to the earth ground of the facility’s power system.
