This is not a malfunction.• If the camera is panned in a wide arc, compensation for camera shake in the panningdirection is not performed. For example, only theeffects of vertical camera shake is reduced withhorizontal panning.• Do not turn the camera off or remove the lensfrom the camera while vibration reduction isoperating. Failure to observe this note couldresult in the lens sounding and feeling as if aninternal component is loose or broken when it isshaken. This is not a malfunction. Turn thecamera on again to correct this.• With cameras featuring a built-in flash, vibrationreduction does not function while the built-inflash is charging.• With autofocus cameras featuring an AF-ONbutton, vibration reduction does not functionwhen the AF-ON button is pressed.• When the camera is mounted on a tripod, set thevibration reduction ON/OFF switch to OFF.However, it is recommended that the switch beset to ON when using the camera on anunsecured tripod head or with monopod.• If this lens is used with cameras that do not havethe vibration reduction function (P.16), set thevibration reduction ON/OFF switch to OFF. Withthe Pronea 600i/6i camera, in particular, batterypower may become quickly depleted if this switchis left ON.
