105The Playback MenuSmall Pic.To create a small copy of a picture, select Smallpic. after displaying the image in full-screen play-back or selecting it in the thumbnail display. Thefollowing resize options are available:• Copies are stored on the memory as BASIC-quality JPEG files (compression ratio 1:16).• Copies are stored in separate files in the memory or on the memory card with names of theform “SSCNnnnn.JPG,” where “nnnn” is a four-digit number assigned automatically by thecamera.• In thumbnail playback, small pictures are indicated by a gray border (except for 640×480).Notes on Small Picture• Small pictures can not be created from cropped copies ( 56), or copies created using smallpicture.• Small pictures created in sizes of 320 × 240 pixels or smaller can not be zoomed.• Nikon does not guarantee any operation of the small picture function for pictures taken withother than COOLPIX5200.Press MENU button in playback mode to select Smallpic. ( 96), and then press .Size (pixels) Description640×480 Copy can be displayed full-screen on television or 13” monitorwith no drop in quality.320×240 Suited to display on web pages.
