78Editing ImagesEditing Imageo Crop: Creating a Cropped CopyCreate a copy containing only the portion visible in the monitor when u isdisplayed with playback zoom (A 64) enabled. Cropped copies are saved as separate files.1 Rotate the zoom control to g (i) in full-frameplayback mode (A 61) to zoom in on the image.To crop an image displayed in “tall” (portrait) orientation,zoom in on image until the black bars displayed on theboth sides of the monitor disappear. The cropped imageis displayed in landscape orientation. To crop the imagein its current “tall” (portrait) orientation, first, use theRotate image option (A 73) to rotate the image sothat it is displayed in landscape orientation. Next, enlarge the image for cropping, cropthe image, and then rotate the cropped image back to “tall” (portrait) orientation.2 Refine copy composition.Rotate the zoom control to g (i) or f (h) to adjust thezoom ratio.Press the multi selector H, I, J or K to scroll theimage until only the portion you want to copy is visible inthe monitor.3 Press the d button.4 Use the multi selector to select Yes and pressthe k button.A cropped copy is created.To exit without saving the copy, choose No and press thek button.4.04.0××YesNoSave this image asdisplayed?C About the size of the original imageAs the area to be saved is reduced, the image size (pixels) of the cropped copy is also reduced.When the image is cropped and the size of the cropped copy is 320 × 240 or 160 × 120, the image isdisplayed with a black border on the playback screen, and the small picture icon B or C isdisplayed on the left of the playback screen.D More InformationSee “File and Folder Names” (A 131) for more information.
