26First StepsInserting the Memory CardThe recorded data is stored in the camera’s internal memory (approx. 102 MB) or oncommercially available Secure Digital (SD) memory cards (A214).If a memory card is inserted in the camera, data is automatically stored on thememory card, and data recorded to the memory card can be played back,deleted, or transferred. To use the internal memory, remove the memorycard.• A memory card is required for movie recording.1 Confirm that the power-on lamp and themonitor are turned off and open the battery-chamber/memory card slot cover.• Be sure to turn off the camera before opening the cover.2 Insert the memory card.• Slide the memory card, until it clicks intoplace.B Inserting the Memory Card CorrectlyInserting the memory card upside down or backwards could damage the camera orthe memory card. Be sure to confirm that the memory card is in the correct orientation.3 Close the battery-chamber/memory card slot cover.Removing the Memory CardBefore opening the battery-chamber/memory card slotcover, turn the camera off and confirm that the power-on lamp and the monitor are off.Press the memory card in lightly with your finger (1) topartially eject it, and then pull it out straight (2).• The camera, battery or memory card may be hotimmediately after using the camera.
