o_ooo_ SportsUse this mode for dynamic action shots that freeze the actionin a single shot and record motion in a series of pictures.• The camera focuses on the subject at the center of theframe. The area focused can be changed by the touchshutter (1_] 45) or touch AF/AE (_ 50). The cameracontinuously adjusts the focus until the shutter-releasebutton is pressed halfway to lock the focus.• While the shutter-release button is held down, up to three pictures are taken at a rate ofabout 0.7 frames per second (fps) when image mode is set to [] 4320x3240.• Focus, exposure, and white balance are fixed at the values determined with the firstpicture in each series.• The maximum frame rate with continuous shooting may vary depending upon thecurrent image mode setting, the memory card used, or shooting condition.• Continuous shooting is disabled and only one picture can be taken at a time when theshutter is reEeased using the Touch shutter function (_ 45).• Hash isdisab]ed.• AF-assist illuminator (_ 156) does not light up.[] Night portraitUse this mode for portraits taken at sunset or at night. The flashfires to light the portrait subject while preserving backgroundlighting to achieve a natural balance between the main subjectand background ambience.• When the camera detects a human face, that face will beframed by a yellow double border (focus area). See "FaceDetection" (_ 41) for more information.• If more than one face is detected, the face nearest to the camera will be framed by adouble border (focus area) and the other faces by a single border. Tap the face framed bya single border to change the focus area to that face (1_] 45, 50).• The camera softens skin tones (in up to three faces) by applying the skin softeningfunction before recording pictures (1_] 75).• If no faces are detected when the shutter-release button is pressed halfway, the camerafocuses on the subject at the center of the frame.• Digital zoom is not available.• The flash mode setting is fixed at fill flash with slow sync with red-eye reduction.• Use the scene effect adjustment slider (_ 60) to adjust picture brightness.Use of a tripod is recommended in scene modes with which _ is indicated.64
