E-8EFunctionsNikon Diffusion Dome• By attaching the included Nikon Diffusion Dome over the flash head,light can be further diffused during bounce flash photography to createextremely soft light with virtually no shadow.• The same effect can be achieved with the camera in either horizontal orvertical position.• Light is more effectively diffused when the built-in wide panel is used(0E-12).Attaching the Nikon Diffusion DomeDetaching knobAttach the Nikon Diffusion Dome asshown in the diagram, with the Nikonlogo facing up.• Detach the Nikon Diffusion Domewhile pulling the detaching knoboutward.Zoom head position indicator• When the Nikon Diffusion Dome isattached, the zoom head position isautomatically set depending on thecamera’s image area and illuminationpattern. The zoom head position isset at 12 mm, 14 mm or 17 mm in FXformat, and 8 mm, 10 mm or 11 mmin DX format (0E-2).• The illumination pattern can bechanged in the setup menu (0B-24).
