H-18H Tips on Speedlight Care and Reference InformationConnecting to an external power sourceTo use an external power source,remove the external power sourceterminal cover and connect the powercord to the terminal.• Do not use Power Cord SC-16 whenconnecting the SB-5000 to the NikonDC Unit SD-7; use the SC-16A instead.v Using High-performance Battery Pack SD-9 or SD-8AConducting continuous flash photography at 8 fps using the SD-9 with8 batteries or SD-8A with 6 batteries can cause the front part of the flashhead to heat up. In flash photography, attaching the SD-9 or SD-8A tothe camera may cause some lineal noise to appear in the image. If this isthe case, set a lower ISO sensitivity or detach the SD-9 or SD-8A from thecamera and use separately.
