The use ofother cleaning chemicalsmay adversely affect thesafety of the machine.• Risk of explosion – Do notuse the cleaner to spray withflammable liquids.GeneralUse of the high-pressure cleaneris subject to the applicable localregulations.Besides the operating instruc-tions and the binding accidentprevention regulations valid in thecountry of use, observe recog-nized regulations for safety andproper use.Do not use any unsafe worktechniques.Do not tie the trigger handleopen.TransportTransport of the high-pressurecleaner is easy on its largewheels.For safe transport in and on ve-hicles we recommend preventingthe equipment from sliding andtilting. Secure it with tie-downsand apply the parking brake onthe castor wheel.For transport at temperaturesaround or below freezing 0°C(32°F), anti-freeze should bedrawn into the pump beforehand(see chapter 6).Before starting the cleanerIf your 3-phase cleaner was sup-plied without a plug, have it fi ttedwith a suitable 3-phase plug withground, by a qualified electrician.Before use, check that the high-pressure cleaner is safe and inproper condition.Regularly check whether thepower cord is damaged or showssigns of ageing.Use the high-pressure cleaneronly when the power cord is ina safe condition. (risk of electricshock using damaged cord!).Check the rated voltage of thehigh-pressure cleaner beforeconnecting it to the mains powersupply. Ensure that the voltageshown on the rating plate cor-responds to the voltage of thepower supply.We strongly recommend that thepower supply to the high pres-sure cleaner be connected via aresidual current circuit breaker.This device stops the supply ofelectricity if the leakage currentto the ground exceeds 30 mA for30 ms or it has an ground testercircuit.Please observe the regulationsand provisions applicable in yourSafety instruc-tions in these op-erating instruc-tions which mustbe observed toprevent risks topersons are marked with thisdanger symbol.This symbol is usedto mark safety in-structions that mustbe observed to pre-vent damage to themachine and its per-formance.This indicatestips and instruc-tions to simplifywork and to en-sure safe operation.Operations markedwith this symbolshould only be car-ried out by Nilfisk-ALTO Service Tech-nicians.
