69Service Manual – SC900 38 - Squeegee SystemMaintenance and AdjustmentSqueegee Blade Cleaning and InspectionPeriodically clean and inspect the squeegeeassembly and blades1 Loosen the two thumb nuts (A), and slide thesqueegee assembly off the lift mechanism2 Clean the squeegee blades (B&C) and suctionarea between the blades (D) with soap andwater3 Inspect the squeegee blades for nicks, tears,and worn leading edges If a squeegee bladeis worn or damaged, it may be turned aroundwith a fresh edge facing down/forwardup to four times before complete bladereplacement is requiredSqueegee Tilt AdjustmentThe squeegee tilt should be adjusted when thesqueegee blades are replaced, or if the squeegee isnot fully wiping the floor. Misadjustment symptomsinclude water streaks at the center or edges of thesqueegee path1 Park the machine on a flat, even surface andlower the squeegee2 Without moving the machine (which will causethe rear squeegee blade to bend backward),inspect the interface between the edge of therear squeegee blade and the floor. Inspect forgaps at either the center or the edges3 If adjustments are necessary, loosen the turnbuckle jamnut (B)4 Lengthen (clockwise) or Shorten (counterclockwise) thesqueegee tilt Turnbuckle (A) to level the squeegee acrossits length• If there is a gap in the center, lengthen theturnbuckle• If there are gaps at the outside, shorten theturnbuckle5 Retighten the jam nutACBDGapShortenGapsLengthenAB
