96Service Manual – SC401, SCRUBTEC 34420 - Wheel System, TractionDrive System Gear Motor Current Draw TestWARNING: This procedure must be performed by qualified personnel only and with the help of anassistant.1 Drive the machine on a level floor.2 Use a suitable chock to raise one side of the machine approximately 2cm from the floor and allow onedrive wheel to turn freelyWARNING: Pay attention to the rotation of the driving wheel when performing the following steps.3 Apply the amp clamp (A) on the positive cable (red) of the drive harness (B) near the Drive system gearmotorFigure 6:AB4 Rotate the Speed adjuster at maximum speed5 Switch on the machine and activate the drive motor with at least one hand on the Operator’s presencesensor6 Check that the current draw is included between 1,5 and 2,5A at 24V7 Release the Operator’s presence sensor8 Switch off the machine and remove the amperometric clamp9 If the amperage is higher, perform the following procedures to detect and correct the abnormalamperage:◦ Check if there is dust or debris preventing the wheel rotation◦ If necessary, disassemble the motor (see “Drive system gearmotor” paragraph), and check thecondition of all its components10 If the above-mentioned procedures do not lead to a correct amperage, the gearmotor must be replaced
