47All work involving the 240 volt mains electricitysupply must be carried out by a qualifi ed electricalcontractor with full knowledge of the relevant safetyregulations. The vacuum cleaner will not startThermal protectorThe vacuum cleaner has a thermal cut-out that trips if thevacuum cleaner becomes overheated.Supreme 100 / Supreme 150 / Performer 150 /Supreme 250 / Performer 250If this happens - unplug the main power cord to reset thevacuum cleaner. Wait 5-10 minutes to allow the machine tocool down. While you are waiting, check the hose, dust bagand filter to be sure that nothing is blocking the flow of airthrough the machine. The vacuum cleaner should now startagain. If the cut-out trips again, you need to get a servicefirm to remedy the fault.Supreme LCDWhen the overheat symbol in the display on the cleaner isactivated (models with display) the cleaners’ thermal cut-outhas tripped. For more information regarding thermal cut out,see Overheat indicator.Other troubleshootings• Are you using the correct hose?Only the original hoses fit correctly.• Does the vacuum cleaner start when you try a differentvacuum socket? If so, there is a fault in the electrical con-nection to the first socket. Unscrew the socket and checkthe connection at the back.• Is the power supply connected to the vacuum unit?• Is there power at the socket?• Is the low-voltage lead connected to the vacuum unit?• The batteries to the radio remote control (wireless versionof vacuum cleaner) may have been discharged. Replacethe batteries with new ones, type 1.5V AAA.The vacuum cleaner will not stop• Has a metal object become lodged in one of the vacuumsockets causing the pins to become fused?Poor suction power• Are all the vacuum sockets closed properly?• Has something become jammed in one of the vacuumsockets?• Is the container lid closed properly?• Is the gasket between the container and the lid in place?• Is it damaged?• Is the pipe system blocked?• Is the dust bag full or clogged?• Is filter clogged?Supreme LCD DisplayThe Supreme LCD model has a display giving informationabout the machine, Fig. 21.Speed levelWhen the start button is pushed or the hose is connected tothe wall socket, the display will turn on and show the speedlevel.10 TroubleshootingDust bag/bag filter indicatorWhen the dust bag/filter symbol starts to flash during opera-tion, the cleaner tells you that it is almost time to clean thebag filter and replace the dustbag. When it is time to do so,symbol will be lit continuously. The dust bag/filer symbol willbe lightened after every 20 operation hours of the cleaner. Ifthe symbol is lit, do like this: Turn off the cleaner by the hosehandle (remote versions) or remove the suction hose fromthe wall inlet or by pushing the on/off switch on the display. Then check if the bag filter/dustbag is clogged. Replacementis described in chapters 7.1, 7.2, 7.3 and 7.4.Reduced airflow indicator - litThe reduced airflow symbol on the display indicates thatthe airflow through the vacuum cleaner is reduced. After 30seconds of operation with reduced airflow, the vacuum motorwill be shot down in order to prevent damage to the motor. Ifthe reduced airflow symbol is lit and the motor has been shutdown, do like this: Check the bag filter and dust bag (seechapters 7.1, 7.2, 7.3 and 7.4) to see if anything is blockingthe airflow. Remove the material causing the reduced air flowsymbol to indicate.Service indicatorWhen the service symbol starts flashing, the motor will runfor one more hour before it stops/will not start. The purposeof the service symbol is to inform you that it is time to orderservice of the cleaner. When the symbol is continuously lit,the run time counter in the cleaner has counted that the al-lowed amount of run time has passed. You must now contactan authorised service workshop and let them perform a ser-vice of the cleaner and to reset the run time counter.Overheat indicator - flashingThe overheat symbol indicates that the cleaner has becomeoverheated. The cleaner stops automatically. Unplug themain power cored to reset the vacuum cleaner and wait 5-10minutes to allow the machine to cool down. While you arewaiting, check the hose, dust bag and filter to be sure thatnothing is blocking the flow of air through the machine.Signal indicator - flashingWhen the symbol is flashing, the hose handle is out of rangeand there is no connection to the cleaner. The cleaner willautomatically stop after 30 min. if the hose handle or thecleaner has not been activated.WARNING!Blockages can occur if:a) the tools and accessories are not used as directedat all times.b) wet or damp carpets are vacuumed.c) foreign objects are vacuumed up when the toolsare not affixed to the hose.d) the wall sockets are not kept open until the systemmotor stops completlye) the filter and bags are not regularly cleaned andreplaced as per manufacturers instructions.NB!
