Allowto cool before putting on or takingoff parts.12 Extreme caution must be usedwhen the cooker contains hotoil, hot food, or hot liquids, orif the cooker is under pressure.Improper use, including movingthe cooker, may result in personalinjury. When using this applianceto pressure cook, ensure the lid isproperly assembled and lockedinto position before use.13 DO NOT move the appliancewhen in use.14 Only use the side handles to carryor move the appliance.15 Removable cooking pot can beextremely heavy when full ofingredients. Care should be takenwhen lifting pot from cooker base.16 DO NOT place food or liquiddirectly into the unit without thepot installed. Only the removablecooking pot is designed tocontain food or liquid.17 To prevent risk of explosionand injury, use only SharkNinjasilicone rings. DO NOT use if tornor damaged.18 Before placing removable cookingpot into the cooker base, ensurepot and base are dry by wipingwith a soft cloth.19 DO NOT sauté or fry with oil whilepressure cooking.20 NEVER use SLOW COOK settingwithout food and liquids in theremovable cooking pot.21 DO NOT use this appliance fordeep frying.22 DO NOT exceed the cooking pot’sPRESSURE MAX fill level whenpressure cooking. Overfilling maycause personal injury or propertydamage or affect the safe use ofthe appliance.23 When pressure cooking foods thatexpand (such as dried vegetables,beans, grains, rice, etc.) DO NOTfill pot more than halfway, or asotherwise instructed in a Ninja®Foodi™ recipe.24 ALWAYS follow the maximum andminimum quantities of liquid asstated in instructions and recipes.25 Foods such as applesauce,cranberries, pearl barley, oatmealor other cereals, split peas,noodles, macaroni, rhubarb,or spaghetti can foam, froth,and splutter when pressurecooked, clogging the pressurerelease valve. These and similarexpanding foods (such as driedvegetables, beans, grains, andrice) should not be cooked ina pressure cooker, except iffollowing a Ninja Foodi recipe.26 Before use, ALWAYS checkpressure release valve andred float valve for clogging orobstruction, and clean them ifnecessary. Check to make surethe red float valve on the pressurelid moves freely.27 DO NOT attempt to open thelid during or after pressurecooking until all internal pressurehas been released through thepressure release valve and theunit has cooled slightly. If thelid will not turn to unlock, thisindicates the appliance is stillunder pressure—DO NOT forcelid open. Any pressure remainingcan be hazardous. Let unitnaturally release pressure or turnthe Pressure Release Valve to theVENT position to release steam.Take care to avoid contact withthe releasing steam to avoidburns or injury. When the steam iscompletely released, the red floatvalve will be in the lower positionallowing the lid to be removed.28 ALWAYS keep hands, face, andother body parts away fromthe pressure release valve priorto or during pressure release.Additional steam may escapewhen opening the pressure lid.29 DO NOT use a damagedremovable cooking pot, siliconering, or lid.
