Replacing the Battery Pack17Basics18 Basics1. Press and hold the Power/Reset button (at least .5 second) until the power shuts off.2. Make sure the AC Adapter is unplugged from the Nintendo DSi.1. Loosen the two Phillips-head (+) screws on the battery cover witha screwdriver, and remove the battery cover.IMPORTANT: To avoid damage to the screw or threads, use a screw-driver that is appropriate for the screw.2. Remove the battery pack as shown at right.3. Orient the new battery as shown and carefully insert completelyinto the battery compartment.4. Replace the battery cover, and tighten the two screws, beingcareful not to overtighten.IMPORTANT: Always be sure to replace the battery cover and tightenthe screws before resuming use.Battery packs become worn with repeated charge/discharge cycles, and the amount of time they can beused when fully charged will decrease gradually over time. If you feel the usage time has dropped offnoticeably, replace the battery pack.• Do not use any battery other than the Nintendo DSi XL rechargeable battery, Model NoUTL-003.
