42Wii U GamePad picture is distorted (blocky) / sound cuts outAre there any obstacles thatcould cause wireless interferencebetween the Wii U console andthe Wii U GamePad?Do not use any items such as metallic TV stands or shelves, or devicesthat could cause interference such as AV equipment, microwaves orcordless phones, near the Wii U console and Wii U GamePad.Due to the way wireless communication works you may experience interruptions in sound or videoduring use. This is not indicative of a fault.Wii U GamePad screen hue changes suddenly / brightness changes and it becomesdifficult to see bright coloursHas power-saving mode beenenabled?When enabled, the power-saving mode will automatically adjust thescreen brightness and colour gradient depending on the picturedisplayed in order to reduce battery consumption. This can lead topale colours whitening and other colours changing. To maintain fixedcolours and brightness levels, disable the power-saving mode fromthe HOME Menu (p. 12).Black or bright points on the Wii U GamePad screen that do not go awaySmall numbers of stuck or dead pixels and occasional uneven brightness are a characteristic of LCD screens.These are normal and should not be considered as a defect.Controller OperationsThe cursor or character moves on its ownHave the controls slipped out ofneutral position?For the Wii U GamePad please see page 32. For other controllers,please refer to their respective manuals.Wii Remote cannot be operated (does not respond correctly)Is the Player LED for theWii Remote lit?Press any button on the Wii Remote (except for the POWER Button).If no Player LEDs light up, check that the batteries are inserted correctly.If the Player LEDs still do not light up, replace both batteries in theWii Remote.Has the Wii Remote been pairedwith the Wii U console you areusing?Press the SYNC Button on the Wii U console and pair the Wii Remotefollowing the on-screen instructions.Is the sensor bar too close or toofar away?Use the Wii Remote at a distance of one to three metres from the sensorbar (30cm – 1m if pointing the Wii Remote at the Wii U GamePad). Ifthe response is still erratic, adjust the sensitivity of the Wii Remote usingthe Adjust Wii Remote Pointer Sensitivity option in System Settings onthe Wii U Menu.Are there obstacles in front ofthe sensor bar?Remove any obstacles between the Wii Remote and sensor bar.Troubleshooting |
