To receive data using Bluetooth, select Bluetooth > On andMy phone's visibility > Shown to all to receive data froma non-paired device or Hidden to receive data from a paireddevice only. When you receive data through Bluetooth,depending on the settings of an active profile, a tone sounds,and you are asked if you want to accept the message in whichthe data is included. If you accept, the message is placed inthe Inbox folder in the Messaging application.Tip: You can access the files in the device or on thememory card using a compatible accessory thatsupports the File Transfer Profile Client service (forexample, a laptop computer).A Bluetooth connection is disconnected automatically aftersending or receiving data. Only Nokia PC Suite and someenhancements such as headsets may maintain a connectioneven if not actively used.Pair devicesOpen the paired devices tab.Before pairing, decide on your own passcode (1-16 digits),and agree with the user of the other device to use the samecode. Devices that do not have a user interface have a fixedpasscode. You need the passcode only when you connect thedevices for the first time. After pairing, it is possible toauthorise the connection. Pairing and authorising theconnection makes connecting quicker and easier, as you donot have to accept the connection between paired devicesevery time you establish a connection.The passcode for remote SIM access must have 16 digits.1. Select Options > New paired device. The device startsto search for Bluetooth devices within range. If you havesent data using Bluetooth before, a list of the previoussearch results is displayed. To search for more Bluetoothdevices, select More devices.2. Select the device with which you want to pair, and enterthe passcode. The same passcode must be entered to theother device as well.3. Select Yes to make the connection between your deviceand the other device automatic, or No to confirm theconnection manually every time a connection attempt ismade. After pairing, the device is saved to the paireddevices page.To give a nickname to the paired device, select Options >Assign short name. The nickname is only displayed in yourdevice.To delete a pairing, select the device whose pairing you wantto delete and Options > Delete. To delete all pairings, selectOptions > Delete all. If you are currently connected to adevice and cancel the pairing with that device, pairing isremoved immediately, and the connection is ended.To allow a paired device to connect automatically to yourdevice, select Set as authorised. Connections between yourdevice and the other device can be made without yourknowledge. No separate acceptance or authorisation isneeded. Use this status for your own devices, such as yourcompatible headset or computer, or devices that belong tosomeone you trust.
