S e t t i n g s56Call an allowed phone numberIn the standby mode, enter an allowed number and press the send key.Change lock codeAvoid using codes similar to emergency numbers such as 911 to preventaccidental dialing of the emergency number.The preset lock code is 1234 or the last four digits of your phone number. If youenter an incorrect lock code five times in a row, your device will prompt you forthe lock code.If you enter the wrong lock code 5 times in succession, you will not be able toenter a code for 5 minutes, even if you power off the device between incorrectentries.1. In the standby mode, select Menu > Settings > Security settings > Changelock code.2. Enter the new lock code (must be 4 characters in length), reenter the newlock code for verification, and select OK.When you change your lock code, make sure you store it in a safe place, awayfrom your device. Avoid entering access codes similar to emergency numbers toprevent accidental emergency calls.Restrict CallsCall restriction is a network service. See "Network services," p. 7.If your wireless service provider supports this feature, you can restrict the callsyour device makes and receives. When calls are restricted, calls still may bepossible to the official emergency number programmed into your device. Contactyour service provider for the restriction password.1. In the standby mode, select Menu > Settings > Security settings > Callrestrictions.2. Enter the lock code, and select OK. See "Change lock code," p. 56.3. Select the types of calls you wish to restrict:Restrict outgoing calls—Calls cannot be made.Restrict incoming calls—Calls cannot be received.4.
