Check with your service provider to see what messaging is availablefor you.■ Text messagesText messaging is a network service. See "Network services," p. 6, for moreinformation. If your wireless service provider supports this feature, you can sendand receive text messages to compatible phones that are also subscribed to theservice.When you write messages, the number of characters used is displayed on theupper right of the screen. Special (unicode) characters take more space than isindicated. Before the message is sent, a prompt will indicate whether themessage is over the maximum length. Also, you can make distribution lists thatcontain phone numbers and names from your contact list. See "Distribution lists,"p. 36 for more information.Note: When sending messages, your device may display Message sent.This is an indication that the message has been sent by your device to themessage center number programmed into your device. This is not anindication that the message has been received at the intendeddestination. For more details about messaging services, check with yourservice provider.Text message folders and optionsSelect Menu > Messaging > Text messages and from the following:Create message—Create and send messages.Inbox—Check for received text messages. Text messages are automatically storedin the Inbox when they are received. A notification appears when a messagearrives in the Inbox.Outbox—Check for outgoing text messages. Text messages are automaticallystored in the Outbox as they are sent. If your service is interrupted while sending,the text message is stored in the Outbox until another delivery attempt is made.Sent items—Sent text messages are stored in Sent items.Drafts—View the list of messages saved for additional work.
