GPRS is atechnology used to send and receive data using short bursts or packets over thewireless network. With GPRS, you can stay connected to the mobile Internet andallow for faster downloads without completing a dial-up connection. Applicationsusing GPRS include the browser, text messaging, and dial-up connections formaking digital data calls.GPRS iconsThe following icons appear on the screen to show you the status of your GPRSconnection.• SET UP AN AUTOMATIC CONNECTIONSome service providers may have customized the options on the Services menu.Contact your service provider for more information if the options shown here arenot available. GPRS may not be available in all wireless networks. Theestablishment and continuation of a GPRS and mobile Internet connection dependson network availability, service provider support, and signal strength. You canchoose one of the following options for your GPRS connection.1 Select Menu > Services > Settings > Connection settings > Edit activeservice settings > Bearer settings > GPRS connection.2 Select one of the following options:When needed—The GPRS connection is established when you use the WAPShows up in the upper left corner of the screen.
