Menu functions■ Messages(Menu 1)You can read, write, send and savetext, multimedia and e-mail messages.The messages are organised intofolders.Text and picture messages(SMS)Using the SMS service (Short MessageService) your phone can send andreceive multi-part messages, whichconsist of several ordinary textmessages (network service). This mayaffect the invoicing of the messages.Text messages can contain pictures.Each picture message is made up ofseveral text messages. Therefore,sending one picture message may costmore than sending one text message.Before you can send text or picturemessages, you need to save yourmessage centre number, see ”Messagesettings” on page 23.Note: Picture messagefunction can be used only if itis supported by your networkoperator or service provider.Only phones that offer picturemessage features can receiveand display picture messages.Writing and sending a message1. Press Menu in standby mode andselect Messages, Text messagesand Create message. OR: Press instandby mode.2. Key in a message. See ”Writingtext” on page 9.The number of available charactersand the current part number of amulti-part message are shown onthe top right of the display, forexample 120/2. Special (Unicode)characters, such as á, may take upmore space in the message thanother characters.• To insert a picture into themessage, press Options and selectInsert picture. Scroll to the desiredpicture, and press View and Insert.• To view the text and picturetogether, press Options and selectPreview. To change the picture orto delete it from the message, pressOptions and select the desiredfunction.• To use a predefined text as a basefor the message, press Options andselect Use template and the desiredtemplate.• To insert a phone number from thecontacts list, press Options andselect Insert number. Press Searchor and select the number fromthe contacts list.
