Battery information■ Charging andDischargingYour phone is powered by arechargeable battery.Note that a new battery's fullperformance is achieved only after twoor three complete charge anddischarge cycles! The battery can be charged anddischarged hundreds of times but itwill eventually wear out. When theoperating time (talk-time and standbytime) is noticeably shorter thannormal, it is time to buy a new battery.Use only batteries approved by thephone manufacturer and rechargeyour battery only with the chargersapproved by the manufacturer. Unplugthe charger when not in use. Do notleave the battery connected to acharger for longer than a week, sinceovercharging may shorten its lifetime. If left unused a fully charged batterywill discharge itself over time.Temperature extremes can affect theability of your battery to charge.Use the battery only for its intendedpurpose.Never use any charger or batterywhich is damaged.Do not short-circuit the battery.Accidental short-circuiting can occurwhen a metallic object (coin, clip orpen) causes direct connection of the +and - terminals of the battery (metalstrips on the battery) for examplewhen you carry a spare battery in yourpocket or purse. Short-circuiting theterminals may damage the battery orthe connecting object.Leaving the battery in hot or coldplaces, such as in a closed car insummer or winter conditions, willreduce the capacity and lifetime of thebattery. Always try to keep the batterybetween 15°C and 25°C (59°F and77°F). A phone with a hot or coldbattery may temporarily not work, even when the battery is fully charged.Batteries' performance is particularlylimited in temperatures well belowfreezing.Do not dispose of batteries in a fire !Dispose of batteries according to localregulations (e.g. recycling). Do notdispose as household waste.
