When you disconnectthe power cord of any enhancement,grasp and pull the plug, not the cord.1. Open the flap on the bottom ofthe phone.2. Connect the charger to a wallsocket.3. Connect the lead from thecharger to the socket on thebottom of your phone.If the battery is completelydischarged, it may take a fewminutes before the chargingindicator appears on the display, orbefore calls can be made.The charging time depends on thecharger and the battery used. Forexample, charging a BL-5B batterywith the ACP-12 charger takesapproximately 1 hour and 10minutes while the phone is in thestandby mode.■ Switch the phone onand offWarning: Do not switch thephone on when wirelessphone use is prohibited orwhen it may causeinterference or danger.Press and hold the power key.If the phone asks for a PIN or a UPINcode, enter the code (displayed as****), and select OK.Turn off the phone when replacingthe battery or SIM card. Wait untilthe backlights are off beforeremoving the battery.Your device has aninternal antenna.Note: As with anyother radiotransmittingdevice, do nottouch the antenna unnecessarilywhen the device is switched on.Contact with the antenna affectscall quality and may cause thedevice to operate at a higher powerlevel than otherwise needed.Avoiding contact with the antennaarea when operating the deviceoptimizes the antenna performanceand the battery life.
