Push to talkIf available, select Menu > Push totalk.Push to talk (PTT) over cellular is atwo-way radio service available overa GPRS cellular network (networkservice).You can use PTT to have aconversation with one person orwith a group of people (channel)having compatible devices. Whileyou are connected to the PTT service,you can use the other functions ofthe phone.To check availability and costs, andto subscribe to the service, contactyour network operator. Roamingservices may be more limited thanfor normal calls.Before you can use the PTT service,you must define the required PTTservice settings. See ”PTT settings”p. 56 and ”Configuration settings”p. 57.■ PTT channelsA PTT channel comprises a group ofpeople (for example, friends or aworkteam) who joined the channelafter they where invited to. Whenyou call a channel, all membersjoined to the channel hear the callsimultaneously.There are different types of PTTchannels:Public channel — Every channelmember can invite other persons.Private channel — Only personswhich receive an invitation by thechannel creator can join in.Provisioned channel — A permanentchannel is created by the serviceprovider.You can set the status of eachchannel to Active or Inactive.The number of active channels andthe number of members per channelis limited. Contact your serviceprovider for details.Create a channelTo add a channel, select Menu >Push to talk > Add channel, andenter the settings in the form fields:Channel name: — Enter a name forthe new channel.Channel status: — Select Active toset the channel active or Inactive todisable the channel.7
