Depending on thenetwork, the active instantmessaging conversation mayconsume the phone battery faster,and you may need to connect thephone to a charger.Register with an instantmessaging serviceYou can do this by registering overthe Internet with the IM serviceprovider you have selected to use.During the registration process,you will have the opportunity tocreate the user name andpassword of your choice. For moreinformation about signing up forinstant messaging services,contact your wireless serviceprovider.AccessTo access the Instant messagesmenu while still offline, selectMenu > Messaging > Instantmessages (Instant messages maybe replaced by another termdepending on the serviceprovider). If more than one set ofconnection settings for instantmessaging service is available,select the one you want. If there isonly one set defined, it is selectedautomatically.The following options are shown:Login — to connect to the instantmessaging service. To set thephone to automatically connect tothe instant messaging servicewhen you switch on the phone; inthe login session, scroll toAutomatic login: and selectChange > On, or select Menu >Messaging > Instant messages,connect to the instant messagingservice, and select Options >Settings > Automatic login > Onor Off.
