Reference InformationDTMF TonesThe phone can send DTMF tones to com-municate with answering machines, com-puterised telephony services etc.The tones can be sent even when the key-pad tones are set off.Manual transmissionMake a call to the desired phone numberand key in the numbers that you want tosend as DTMF tones.Automatic transmissionStart a call in the normal way. Then, do asfollows: Press Options, scroll with orto Send DTMF, and press Select.Key in the DTMF sequence or recall it fromPhone book, and press OK to send it.Pressing Exit ends the DTMF transmis-sion but not the call.Placing pauses and waits in a DTMFsequenceWhen keying in a DTMF sequence, you canplace pause and wait characters in frontof or between DTMF numbers.For a pause of 2.5 seconds, pressthree times quickly (p is displayed). Whensending the sequence, all numbers follow-ing the pause(s) are sent as DTMF tones.For a wait character, press four timesquickly (w is displayed).To send a DTMF sequence which containswait characters:1 Start a DTMF call in the normal way.2 Press Send as many times as there arewait characters. Numbers after thewaits are sent as DTMF tones.N OTE: Pause and wait characters cannotbe stored on some SIM cards.Linking a phone number to a DTMFsequenceYou can link a phone number to a DTMFsequence for sending them together.1 Key in a phone number or recall it fromPhone book.2 Press twice quickly (for +).3 Key in the number of the speed diallinglocation that holds the DTMF sequence(this step can be skipped) and store thephone number in the internal Phonebook.
