Potentially explosiveatmospheres include areas where you would normally be advised to turnoff your vehicle engine. Sparks in such areas could cause an explosionor fire resulting in bodily injury or even death. Turn off the device atrefueling points such as near gas pumps at service stations. Observerestrictions on the use of radio equipment in fuel depots, storage, anddistribution areas; chemical plants; or where blasting operations are inprogress. Areas with a potentially explosive atmosphere are often, butnot always, clearly marked. They include below deck on boats, chemicaltransfer or storage facilities and areas where the air contains chemicalsor particles such as grain, dust, or metal powders.
