S e t t i n g sPacket dataGeneral packet radio service (GPRS) is a network servicethat allows mobile phones to send and receive dataover an Internet protocol (IP)based network.To define how to use the service, select Menu >Settings > Connectivity > Packet data > Packet dataconn. and from the following options:When needed — to set the packet data connection toestablished when an application needs it. Theconnection will be closed when the application isterminated.Always online — to set the phone to automaticallyconnect to a packet data network when you switch thephone onaccess pt. > Alias for access point, enter a name tochange the access point settings, and select OK. SelectPacket data acc. pt., enter the access point name (APN)to establish a connection to an network, and select OK.You can also set the EGPRS dial-up service settings(access point name) on your PC using the Nokia PCSuite software. See ”Nokia PC Suite” p. 83. If you haveset the settings both on your PC and on your phone, thePC settings are used.Data transferSynchronize your calendar, contacts data, and noteswith another compatible device (for example, a mobilephone), a compatible PC, or a remote Internet server(network service).
