■ Support for GSM andUMTS networksYour phone can be used in GSM 900,GSM 1800 and UMTS networks.The UMTS network allows fastcommunications and simultaneoususe of several call functions. Whenthe phone is using a UMTS networkyou can, for example, take a photoduring a call and send it in amultimedia message without endingthe call (network service dependent).The phone selects the GSM or UMTSnetwork automatically according tothe network parameters and theroaming agreements between thenetwork operators. When the phoneis being used in a UMTS network,is shown in standby mode, ifsupported by the network.■ GPRS for fast datatransferGPRS can be used for accessing WAPand Internet services, sending andreceiving text and multimediamessages and downloading JavaTMgames and applications (networkservices).To use the GPRS service: Subscribe toit from your network operator orservice provider and save the GPRSsettings for the functions, forexample multimedia messages andWAP services, that you want to usewith the GPRS service.■ Shared memoryThe following features in this phonemay share memory: phone book; textand multimedia messages; images,video clips and ringing tones in theGallery menu; WAP bookmarks;calendar and to-do notes; JavaTMgames and applications.Using any such features may reducethe memory available for anyfeatures sharing memory. This isespecially true with heavy use of anyof the features (although some ofthe features may have a certainamount of memory specially allottedto them in addition to the amount ofmemory shared with other features).For example, saving many imagesmay take all of the shared memoryand your phone may display amessage that the memory is full.
