Important: Only install and use applications and othersoftware from trusted sources, such as applications that areSymbian Signed or have passed the Java Verified testing.Before installation, note the following:● To view the application type, version number, and thesupplier or manufacturer of the application, selectOptions > View details.To display the security certificate details of the application,in Details:, scroll to Certificates:, and select View details.● If you install a file that contains an update or repair to anexisting application, you can only restore the originalapplication if you have the original installation file or a fullbackup copy of the removed software package. To restorethe original application, remove the application, andinstall the application again from the original installationfile or the backup copy.The JAR file is required for installing Java applications. If itis missing, the device may ask you to download it. If thereis no access point defined for the application, you areasked to select one. When you are downloading the JARfile, you may need to enter a user name and password toaccess the server. You obtain these from the supplier ormanufacturer of the application.To install an application or software:1. To locate an installation file, select > Applications >App. mgr.. Alternatively, search for installation files usingFile manager, or open a message in Messaging >Inbox that contains an installation file.2. In Application manager, select Options > Install. Inother applications, to start the installation, select theinstallation file.During installation, the device shows information aboutthe progress of the installation. If you install anapplication without a digital signature or certification,the device displays a warning. Continue installation onlyif you are sure of the origin and contents of theapplication.To start an installed application, locate the application in themenu, and select the application.To see which software packages are installed or removed andwhen, select Options > View log.Important: Your device can only support one antivirusapplication. Having more than one application with antivirusfunctionality could affect performance and operation orcause the device to stop functioning.After you install applications to a compatible memory card,installation files (.sis, .sisx) remain in the device memory. Thefiles may use large amounts of memory and prevent you fromstoring other files. If the .sis file is a message attachment,delete the message from the Messaging inbox.Remove applications and softwareSelect > Applications > App. mgr..Scroll to a software package, and select Options >Uninstall.
