All messages are organized intofolders.■ Text message (SMS)With the short message service (SMS) you can send and receive textmessages, and receive messages that can contain pictures (networkservice).Before you can send any text or SMS e-mail messages, you must saveyour message center number. See “Message settings,” p. 43.To check SMS e-mail service availability and to subscribe to theservice, contact your service provider. To save an e-mail address inContacts, see “Save details,” p. 47.Your device supports the sending of text messages beyond the character limitfor a single message. Longer messages will be sent as a series of two or moremessages. Your service provider may charge accordingly. Characters that useaccents or other marks, and characters from some language options likeChinese, take up more space limiting the number of characters that can besent in a single message.An indicator at the top of the display shows the total number ofcharacters left and the number of messages needed for sending. Forexample, 673/2 means that there are 673 characters left and that themessage will be sent as a series of two messages.Write and send a message1. Select Menu > Messaging > Create message > Text message.2. Enter one or more phone numbers or e-mail addresses in the To:field. To retrieve a phone number or e-mail address from amemory, select Add.3. For an SMS e-mail, enter a subject in the Subject: field.4. Write your message in the Message: field.
