Reference informationAccess codesYou can use the access codes de-scribed in this section to avoid unau-thorised use of your phone and SIMcard.The access codes (except PUK andPUK2 codes) can be changed by usingMenu 4-6-6. See the following sec-tion.Security code (5 digits)The security code can be used to avoidunauthorised use of your phone. Thesecurity code 12345 is usually sup-plied with the phone. Change the se-curity code before you start usingyour phone. Keep the new code secretand in a safe place, which is separatefrom the phone.If you key in an incorrect securitycode five times in succession, thephone will not accept the correctcode for the next five minutes.PIN code (4 to 8 digits)The PIN (Personal IdentificationNumber) code protects your SIM cardagainst unauthorised use. The PINcode is usually supplied with the SIMcard. When the PIN code request isenabled (Menu 4-6-1), the code isasked each time the phone isswitched on.If you key in an incorrect PIN codethree times in succession, key in thePUK code and press OK. Key in a newPIN code and press OK. Key in the newcode again and press OK.PIN2 code (4 to 8 digits)The PIN2 code, supplied with some SIMcards, is required to access some func-tions, such as charging unit counters.These functions are only available ifsupported by your SIM card.If you key in an incorrect PIN2 codethree times in succession, key in thePUK2 code and press OK. Key in a newPIN2 code and press OK. Key in thenew code again and press OK.PUK code (8 digits)The PUK (Personal Unblocking Key)code is required to change a blockedPIN code. The PUK code may be sup-plied with the SIM card. If not, contactyour local service provider for the code.If you key in an incorrect PUK codeten times in succession, the SIM cardcannot be used anymore. Contactyour service provider for a new card.
