ConnectivityYour device offers several options toconnect to the internet or to anothercompatible device or PC.Data connections and access pointsYour device supports packet dataconnections (network service), such asGPRS in the GSM network. When you useyour device in GSM and 3G networks,multiple data connections can be active atthe same time, and access points canshare a data connection. In the 3Gnetwork, data connections remain activeduring voice calls.You can also use a WLAN data connection.Only one connection in one wireless LANcan be active at a time, but severalapplications can use the same internetaccess point.To establish a data connection, an accesspoint is required. You can define differentkinds of access points, such as thefollowing:• MMS access point to send and receivemultimedia messages• Internet access point (IAP) to send andreceive e-mail and connect to theinternetCheck the type of access point you needwith your service provider for the serviceyou want to access. This optionis shown only if supported by the wirelessservice provider.A roaming agreement is an agreementbetween two or more service providers toenable the users of one service provider touse the services of other service providers.Operator selection — SelectAutomatic to set the device to search forand select one of the available networks,or Manual to manually select the networkfrom a list. If the connection to themanually selected network is lost, thedevice sounds an error tone and asks youto reselect a network.
