This setting applies only to networks andconnections you have saved in your device.Search interval—Define how often connections are searchedin the background.Tip: Once you have saved one or moreWLAN(s) in Tools >Control panel >Connectivity > Connections, the devicesearches for those connections every 10minutes by default, while there is no ongoingconnection. To disable the search in thebackground in order to save battery power, setthe search interval value to Never. On the Idle times page, select the time after which theinternet connection ends automatically if the connectionis not used. Use Packet data idle time for packet-switcheddata connections (such as GPRS), Data call idle time forcircuit-switched data calls (such as GSM data call), andWLAN idle time for connections created through a WLANaccess point.Note: Time-based charges may apply to theinternet connections. Check with yourservice provider, and adjust the idle timesaccordingly.Note: The network may also have idle timersthat may cause the internet connection tobreak, regardless of the idle timers of thedevice.WLAN connectionWhen you access an application that requires an internetconnection, the device uses the WLAN connections youhave saved by default. If you have not saved anyconnections or they are unavailable, you are asked toselect the connection (internet access point) to use. Youcan save the network after selecting it from the list.
