If theforeground object is too close to the camera, it may beblurred.Lighting conditionsChanging the source, amount, and direction of light canchange photographs dramatically. Here are some typicallighting conditions:• Light source behind the subject. Avoid placing yoursubject in front of a strong light source. If the lightsource is behind the subject or visible in the display,the resulting picture may have weak contrast, may betoo dark, and may contain unwanted light effects.• Sidelit subject. Strong side light gives a dramaticeffect but may be too harsh, resulting in too muchcontrast.• Light source in front of the subject. Harsh sunlightRecord videosTo activate the camera, Press , and select Camera in theStandby view. The camera starts, and you can see the viewto be captured.If the camera is in Image mode, open the video recorderview by moving the joystick right.To adjust colour before recording a video, select Options >Adjust > White balance or Colour tone. See ‘Adjustcolour’, p. 40.1 Press the joystick to start recording. The record iconis shown and a tone sounds, indicating to thesubject that video is being recorded.2 To pause recording at any time, select Pause. The pauseicon blinks on the display. Video recordingautomatically stops if the recording is set to pause andthere are no key presses within a minute.3 Select Continue to resume recording.
