foreground. If the foreground object is too close tothe camera, it may be blurred.Lighting conditionsChanging the source, amount, and direction of lightcan change photographs dramatically. Here aresome typical lighting conditions:● Light source behind the subject. Avoid placingyour subject in front of a strong light source. Ifthe light source is behind the subject or visible inthe display, the resulting picture may have weakcontrast, may be too dark, and may containunwanted light effects.● Sidelit subject. Strong side light gives a dramaticeffect but may be too harsh, resulting in toomuch contrast.● Light source in front of the subject. Harshsunlight may cause the subjects to squint theireyes. The contrast may also be too high.● Optimal lighting is found in situations wherethere is plenty of diffused, soft light available, forexample, on a bright, partially cloudy day or ona sunny day in the shadow of trees.Video recordingTo activate the main camera, press and hold thecapture key, or press , and select Applications >Camera.Video capture indicatorsThe video viewfinder displays the following:1 — Capture mode indicator2 — Audio mute on indicator3 — Active toolbar.
