54 INSTALLATION PROCEDURE4.1 W ING SENSOR I NSTALLATION1. Assemble the Breakaway Sensor MountingBrackets (B11) as show in Figure 3 andFigure 4.Figure 3 – Breakaway Sensor BracketExploded ViewFigure 4 – Breakaway Sensor MountingBracket AssemblyTo assemble the breakaway sensor bracket:a) Assemble the bolt and nut into the collar.b) Grease the bottom edge of the collar andthe angled tube of the base.c) Place the collar onto the angled tube ofthe mounting base.d) Install the spring between the collar andthe upper ring of the base.e) Insert tube through assembly and tightenthe collar2. Mount the sensor bracket onto the boom.If possible, mount the sensor bracketswhile the booms are in their foldedposition to ensure that they will notinterfere with anything when the boomis folded for transport.3. The sensor mounting brackets can beinstalled with the mounting base behind(Figure 7) or in front of the tube (Figure 5).It is advised to avoid mounting thesensor bracket to a breakaway portionof the boom because a breakawayaction can cause the UC4+ SprayHeight Control system to force a boomclose to the ground.4. Mount the NORAC UC4+ ultrasonic sensor(E02) into the sensor brackets. The sensorsshould be oriented forward (ahead) of theboom (see Figure 5 and Figure 7).When installing the UC4+ sensors(E02), start with the smallest serialnumber on the left hand sideproceeding to the largest serial numberon the right hand side. |
