27HOW TO USE AN IFIT WORKOUTYou must have an iFit module to use an iFit workout.To purchase an iFit module at any time, go towww.iFit.com or call the telephone number on thefront cover of this manual.Note: To use an iFit module, you must have accessto a computer with an internet connection and a USBport. You will also need an iFit.com membership. Touse a wireless iFit module, you must also have yourown wireless network including an 802.11b router withSSID broadcast enabled (hidden networks are notsupported).IMPORTANT: To satisfy exposure compliancerequirements, the antenna and transmitter in theiFit module must be at least 8 in. (20 cm) from allpersons and must not be near or connected to anyother antenna or transmitter.1. Begin pedaling or press any button on theconsole to turn on the console.See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER onpage 22.2. Make sure that the iFit module is inserted in theconsole.To use an iFit workout, make sure that the iFit mod-ule is inserted in the console.3. Select a user.If more than one user is registered with youriFit.com membership, you can switch users in theiFit main screen. Press the increase and decreasebuttons next to the Enter button to select a user.4. Select an iFit workout.To download an iFit workout in your schedule,press the Map, Train, or Lose Wt. button to down-load the next workout of that type in your schedule.To download the next workout in your schedule,press the iFit button. Note: You may be able toaccess demo workouts through these options, evenif you do not insert an iFit module.To compete in a race that you have previouslyscheduled, press the Compete button.To re-run a recent iFit workout from your sched-ule, first press the Track button. Next, press theincrease and decrease buttons to select thedesired workout. Then, press the Enter button tostart the workout.To use a set-a-goal workout, press the Set Goalbutton (see page 26).Note: Before some workouts will download, youmust add them to your schedule on iFit.com.For more information about the iFit workouts,please go to www.iFit.com.When you select an iFit workout, the display willshow the name, duration, maximum ramp inclinelevel, and distance of the workout. The display willalso show the approximate number of calories youwill burn during the workout and a profile of theresistance settings of the workout.Note: The calorie goal is an estimate of thenumber of calories that you will burn duringthe workout. The actual number of calories thatyou burn will depend on various factors suchas your weight. In addition, if you manuallychange the resistance or incline of the rampduring the workout, the number of calories youburn will be affected.5. Start the workout.See step 3 on page 25.During some workouts, the voice of a personaltrainer will guide you through your workout. Youcan select an audio setting for your personal trainer(see HOW TO CHANGE CONSOLE SETTINGS onpage 29).To stop the workout at any time, stop pedaling. Thetime will flash in the display. To resume the work-out, simply resume pedaling.
