HOW TO USE A WEIGHT LOSS WORKOUTt. Begin pedaling or press any button on the con-sole to turn on the console.A moment after you begin pedaling or press a but-ton, the display will light.2. Select a weight loss workout.To select one of thefour weight lossworkouts, press theWeight LossWorkouts buttonrepeatedly until thename of thedesired workoutProfileWEICHTLD55:appears in the display. The workout time and aprofile of the resistance levels for the workout willalso appear in the display.3. Begin pedaling or press the Start button tostart the workout.Each workout is divided into several one-minutesegments. One resistance level and one targetrpm (pace) setting are programmed for each seg-ment. Note: The same resistance and/or target rpmsetting may be programmed for consecutive seg-merits.The resistance level and the target rpm for the firstsegment will appear in the center of the display fora few seconds. During the workout, the workoutprofile will show your progress (see the drawingabove). The flashing segment of the profile repre-sents the current segment of the workout. Theheight of the flashing segment indicates the resis-tance level for the current segment. At the end ofeach segment of the workout, a series of tones willsound and the next segment of the profile willbegin to flash. If a different resistance level and/ortarget rpm is programmed for the next segment,the resistance level and/or the target rpm will flashin the display for a few seconds to alert you. Theresistance of the pedals will then change.As you exercise,you will be prompt-ed to keep yourpedaling pace nearthe target rpm set-ting for the currentsegment. When anupward-pointing arrow appears in the display,increase your pace. When a downward-pointingarrow appears in the display, decrease your pace.When no arrows appear, maintain your currentpace.IMPORTANT: The target rpm settings areintended only to provide motivation. Your actu-al pace may be slower than the target rpm set-tings. Make sure to pedal at a pace that is com-fortable for you.If the resistance level for the current segment istoo high or too low, you can manually override thesetting by pressing the Resistance buttons.IMPORTANT: When the current segment of theworkout ends, the pedals will automaticallyadjust to the resistance level programmed forthe next segment.The workout will continue in this way until the lastsegment ends. To stop the workout at any time,stop pedaling. A tone will sound and the time willbegin to flash in the display. To restart the workout,simply resume pedaling.4. Follow your progress with the display.See step 4 on page 16.5. Measure your heart rate if desired.See step 5 on page 17.6. When you are finished exercising, the consolewill turn off automatically.See step 6 on page 17.18
