CLEO COMBI.8192000 Rev.08 – EN 257. FUELS ALLOWED/NOT ALLOWEDThe fuels allowed are logs of wood and pellets. Only dry logs of wood must be used (max water content 20%) andpellets in compliance with the features described in chapter 7.2.7.1. WOODThe pieces of wood must have a length of about 30 cm and a max. circumference of 30 cm.The wood used as fuel must have a moisture content less than 20% and this is obtained with a drying time of at leastone year (softwood) or two years(hardwood) by putting this wood in a dry ventilated place (for example, under ashelter). Wet wood makes lighting more difficult because a greater amount of energy is necessary to make the waterpresent evaporate. The moisture content also has another disadvantage, with the lowering of the temperature, the water condenses firstin the hearth and then in the chimney. Fresh wood contains about 60% of H2O, it is therefore not suitable for burning.Species Kg/mc KWh/Kg Humidity 20%Beech 750 4.0Turkey Oak 900 4.2Elm 640 4.1Poplar 470 4.1Larch * 660 4.4Red Fir * 450 4.5Scot's Pine* 550 4.4* RESINOUS WOODS NOT VERY SUITABLE FOR A STOVEThe following can also not be burned: carbon remains, cuttings, bark and panels waste, wet wood or treatedwith paints, plastic materials; in this case the appliance warranty becomes null and void.Paper and cardboard must only be used for lighting. The combustion of waste is prohibited and would alsodamage the stove and flue, also causing health problems and in virtue of the olfactory disturbance claims fromneighbours.Wood is not a long duration fuel and therefore it is not possible to have continuous heating of the stove throughout thenight.ATTENTION: the continuous and prolonged used of woods particularly rich with aromatic oils (e.g. Eucalyptus, Myrtle, etc.) causes the repeated deterioration (flaking) of the cast iron components that make up the product.CHIMNEY CAP DISTANCES AND POSITIONING UNI 10683/98Roof inclination Distance between the ridge andthe chimneyMinimum chimney height(measured from outlet)α A (m) H (m)15°< 1.85 m 0.50 m over the ridge> 1.85 m 1.00 m from roof30°< 1.50 m 0.50 m over the ridge> 1.50 m 1.30 m from roof45°< 1.30 m 0.50 m over the ridge> 1.30 m 2.00 m from roof60°< 1.20 m 0.50 m over the ridge> 1.20 m 2.60 m from roof
