Press Handsfree key to switch back.Adjusting VolumeThis feature enables you to adjust the volume level according to your comfort bypressing the “Volume+ / Volume- buttons” on the phone. This can be done in thefollowing ways:• To adjust voice volume, press +/-Volume during a call or after invoking adial tone when in one of handsfree, headset or handset modes.• To adjust ringer volume, press +/-Volume while the Handset is on theCradle and the Headset and Handsfree buttons are off. Continue pressingthe button to adjust the volume. The new ringer volume is savedautomatically.Note: The volume settings for Ringer, Handset, Handsfree and Headset areadjusted separately from, and independently of, one another.Instant Messages (IM)Instant text messages may be sent and received using this feature. Themaximum number of characters allowed per single message is 255 and acharacter count is displayed on your phone’s LCD while typing a message.To use this feature, press Services key and then press the IM softkey.Information about IMs appears on the screen. Now you can read and writemessages using the Read and Write softkeys that appear. While reading amessage, you can view information about the sender such as user name, userId, and the date and time on which message was received by pressing the Infosoftkey. If you so prefer, you may press the Beep softkey to configure yourphone to emit a beep when an IM is received. Note that when you receive aninstant message, the LED on top of your phone glows to indicate an incomingmessage, along with a display on your LCD stating, for example, “1 New TextMessage.” The message remains displayed on the LCD until you read yourinstant messages.
