If your accesspoints are password protected and you want to clear the login status immediately, use the multiple configuration wizard to apply the Action, Reboot command to thesame group of access points. This procedure secures the current managementstation and ensures that a password is required to again manage the access points.Managing Access Points Through TelnetIf you are managing through Telnet, after a certain amount of time, you might findthat an access point is no longer accessible. Use the AP Manager Program toreboot or turn the power off and then on again. After a power cycle, the accesspoint can be identified and managed through normal procedures, either throughthe network or through a wireless connection.Managing Access Points Through Third-Party SNMP ManagementToolsIf you are using a third-party SNMP management tool to manage your accesspoints, you must make sure that the access points you want to manage are notpassword protected.Running AP Manager on a Windows NT 4.0 ServerAP Manager application does not run on a Windows NT 4.0 server.Book.fm Page 8 Thursday, October 14, 1999 4:33 PM
