Virtual Private Network connection management93Virtual Private Networkconnection managementA Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection allows you to communicatethrough the public internet but maintain privacy through the use of atunneling protocol and security procedures.You can be required to establish a VPN connection to your enterprisebefore you can use the MCC 3100 for Windows Mobile to accessenterprise network resources.The MCC 3100 for Windows Mobile supports multiple VPN profiles. Eachprofile requires a unique VPN connection. For example, you can use oneVPN profile at home and another at the office. For information about howto manage your VPN profiles, see “VPN connections” on page 117.After you define your VPN profile on the MCC 3100 for Windows Mobile,you can use them to establish a VPN connection. When you log in to theWiFi network, select a profile and complete the connection.IMPORTANT!The MCC 3100 for Windows Mobile supports only oneactive VPN connection.IMPORTANT!The Remember My Password check box is availablethe first time you connect to the VPN server. If youenable the check box, and the VPN server permits, thepassword is saved for subsequent connections. If theVPN Server does not allow the VPN password to beremembered, the check box is not available forsubsequent connections to the VPN server.
