Calling Line Identification (CLI) or Caller IDCLI provides the caller’s telephone number when you receive a call. Thisinformation is provided by the network and not the caller, so it can be usedas a security measure to identify calls to be accepted and rejected. 64 Kbps clear channelNote: A 64 Kbps clear channel is also required on the ISDN PRIconnection between the host PBX and the PSTN. A 56 Kbps channel doesnot provide enough bandwidth to process one call using G.711compression.In return for providing the ordering information, your service provider gives youdirectory numbers and, if used in your area, Service Profile Identifiers (SPIDs).SPIDs are not provided for the AT&T 5ESS Custom service.A directory number is the address or ISDN telephone number for the ISDN lineassigned by the service provider. Each ISDN line receives at least one telephonenumber, called the Primary Directory Number. If used in your area, your service provider provides you with the SPIDs. Theseare associated with the service you have ordered, and you must use these as partof the configuration for the Remote Gateway 9150 unit before any ISDNconnections can be made (except for AT&T Custom). The SPID is similar to theISDN telephone number and its format is unimportant as long as the informationis entered correctly when configuring the Remote Gateway 9150 unit.
