Chapter 2 Cabling the VPN Router and turning the power on 39Nortel VPN Router Installation — VPN Router 2750Verifying a successful installationAfter you connect the gateway to the power source and turn it on, you can verify asuccessful installation by checking the light emitting diodes (LED) on the frontpanel (Figure 8 on page 40).The following sequence of LEDs should occur:1 The power LED (the Nortel logo) lights blue.2 The Alert LED lights red, and the Boot/Ready LED lights green.3 The Boot/Ready LED lights yellow, and the Alert LED turns off when thegateway begins its boot sequence.4 The Boot/Ready LED lights green to indicate that the gateway is operationalafter the boot process is complete.5 The Alert LED lights yellow because the gateway is not configured. For a newly installed VPN Router 2750, a yellow Alert LED does not indicatean alarm condition. After you configure the gateway, the Alert LED turns off.(See Chapter 3, “Configuring the management IP interface,” on page 53.)If the LEDs on the front panel light in this sequence, your installation issuccessful. If the LEDs do not light in this sequence, check that you correctlyinstalled the bezel on the gateway and that you properly attached the power cordto the power supply (see “Connecting the power cord” on page 37).If the VPN Router 2750 still does not boot, contact your local Nortel TechnicalSolutions Center (see “How to get help” on page 17).
