Before Each Use212. Away fromcombustibledust, liquids,or vaporsDo not locate and use the pressure washer in the presence of flammablevapors, dust, gases, or other potentially combustible materials. Burner is anopen flame, which can ignite airborne dusts and flammable vapors. Operate onlywhere open flame or torch is permitted.3. AdequateventilationairflowThe pressure washer needs adequate, unobstructed flow of air to allow forproper combustion and adequate cooling. Proper combustion can only beobtained when there is a sufficient supply of oxygen available for the amount offuel being burned. Cooling ventilation is required to prevent overheating of thepressure washer and possible fire.• Situate so there is adequate clearance around pressure washer to allow forairflow – at least 7 feet from any non-combustible wall or obstruction.• Never place any objects against or on top of the pressure washer.• Do not operate with a tarp, blanket, or cover surrounding the pressurewasher.4. Hot exhaustclearanceThe exhaust gas from your pressure washer is extremely hot and can causecombustible materials to catch on fire.• Make sure both the engine exhaust and burner exhaust are at least 7 feetfrom all combustible materials and buildings/structures during operation.• Equip the engine with a spark arrestor if the pressure washer will be usednear any ignitable forest, brush, or grassy land. (See the engine manualprovided with this equipment to determine if the engine is alreadyequipped.) Make sure you comply with applicable local, state, and federalcodes.• Keep a fire extinguisher rated “ABC” nearby. Keep it properly charged andbe familiar with its use.5. Firm, level,heat-resistantsurface withnearby watersupplyThe pressure washer should be positioned on a firm, level (less that 3 degreeslope), heat-resistant surface with good drainage and a nearby water supply.The pressure washer should be placed within garden hose distance of acontinuous water supply. Ensure that the pressure washer sits level and will notslide or shift during operation. If applicable, block the pressure washer’s wheelsto prevent movement. Surface should be heat resistant if you will be using theburner for heated spray.
