29Aftertouch CalibrationTo calibrate the aftertouch press a keyboard key down with enough pressure to fully engage the aftertouch mechanismand hold the key in that position. Whilst holding the key down, use encoder 4 to increase the ‘Set’ value from 0. Whilstincreasing the ‘Set’ value watch the ‘Read’ value, which will automatically start increasing from 0. As soon as the ‘Read’value reaches 127 stop increasing the ‘Set’ value and release the key. Try fully pressing some other keys to make sure thatthe ‘Read’ value reaches 127 when the aftertouch mechanism is fully engaged. If it does not reach 127 then increase the‘Set’ value so that it does (it may only require an increase of 1 or 2).Keyboard Size CalibrationThis option is not displayed on the LCD, but a further calibration available on this page is setting the keyboard size of yourunit. Press the bottom and top keyboard keys at the same time. ‘Octaves’ and the number of octaves on the keyboard (2,3 or 5) will appear on the display to show that the SL MkII has recognised the correct keyboard size. This should only needto be done if the LCD shows the incorrect number of octaves when the SL MkII is powering up.PowerThe power source is displayed underneath ‘Power’; ‘USB’, ‘PSU’ will be shown. The power source cannot be set from theGlobal menu. Use the power select switch on the back of the SL MkII to set the power source.WRItInG GLoBAL SEttInGSTo save all global settings, press the WRITE button whilst in the Global menu. It is important to do this after calibratingthe joystick, aftertouch, keyboard size or drum pads. Remember that global settings can be saved regardless of whethermemory protect is set to ‘ON’ or ‘OFF’.tRAnSPoRtThe second row of buttons below the sliders can either be used as transport control, or for use within the currenttemplate (either as Automap or Advanced mode MIDI buttons).When lit, the buttons will be available as transport controls. This will also be indicated in the Automap HUD when inAutomap Mode.In Advanced Mode you can edit the MIDI message the Transport Buttons send in the same way as any other control.
