VE Series Floor Scale EN-1INTRODUCTIONThis manual contains installation, operation and maintenance instructions for the VE Series Floor Scale.SAFETY PRECAUTIONSPlease follow these safety precautions:• Never operate in hazardous areas.• For VE Series models ending with S, M, or L, (Painted Steel versions) – These models may be used in dryenvironments only.• For VE Series models ending with SW, MW, or LW, (Stainless Steel versions) – These models may beused in wet or dry environments.• The foundation at the installation site must be capable of safely supporting the weight of the floor scaleplus the weight of the maximum load.• Ensure that vibrations due to machines near the installation site are kept to a minimum. This applies alsowhen the floor scale is integrated into conveying systems.INSTALLATIONCAUTION: THE FLOOR SCALE ISVERY HEAVY, ALWAYS USE ANAPPROPRIATE HOIST TO LIFT ITFROM THE PACKAGING OR TOMOVE IT INTO THE REQUIREDPOSITION.Figure 1. Hoisting Method.Unpacking1. Remove the outer packaging materials from thetop and sides of the floor scale.2. Install the two included eye bolts into opposingsides of the floor scale, see Figure 1.3. Lift the floor scale from the packaging material,see caution notice.
