Step by StepMaking and Answering Calls8Making and Answering CallsSpecial default ring signaling is set for your telephone:• When you receive an internal call, your telephone rings once ev-ery four seconds (single-tone sequence).• When you receive an external call, your telephone rings twice inrapid succession every four seconds (dual-tone sequence).• When you receive a call from the entrance telephone, your tele-phone rings three times in rapid succession every four seconds(triple-tone sequence).• If a call is waiting, you hear a short tone (beep) every six seconds.Answering a CallThe telephone rings.n Lift the handset.Ending the call:t Replace the handset.Your service personnel can adjust the ring cadence for exter-nal and internal calls for you. In other words, different ring ca-dences can be set for different internal callers.If your telephone has a display and a CLIP function (CallingLine Identification Presentation), the calling line or name ofthe caller (US only) will be shown in the display, even beforethe connection is picked up. This is assuming that callingline identifier presentation is activated, not deliberately sup-pressed, and that the CLIP function has been configured byyour service personnel.
