This portrequires a cable conforming to USB version 1.1 or above.The operation of a printer is not assured if a USB-compatibledevice is connected concurrently with other USB-compatiblemachines.When connecting multiple printers of the same type, they appearas *****, ***** (2), ***** (3), etc. These numbers depend on theorder of connecting or turning on each printer.3. Serial – for direct connection to a device that uses serial printing(available as an option only on the B4300).4. Ethernet – For network cable connection. (available as an optiononly on the B4300)5. If you are connecting your printer directly to a standalonecomputer proceed to the chapter entitled “Printer Drivers.”If your printer is to be installed as a network printer, please refer to therelevant section in the User’s Guide for the network interface card forfurther details on how to configure the network connection beforeinstalling the printer drivers.NOTEAdministrator’s authority is required when installing a network connection.
